Mur Lafferty is a freelance writer and podcaster from Durham, NC. She writes for role-playing games including World of Warcraft, Mage and Vampire and magazines including Scrye and IQGamer. She hosts and produces the podcasts I Should Be Writing and Geek Fu Action Grip. She is the coauthor of the upcoming Tricks of the Podcasting Masters.

Mur got the idea to create Voices: New Media Fiction one cold December night while in a basement in Buffalo, New York. She’d released her essays as a podiobook, and a listener had asked if she’d be releasing her stories as such too. At first she said no, since two stories didn’t really justify a podiobook, but then she realized that there were many people podcasting short fiction. Everyone she contacted to be a part of Voices was positive about the project and two months later, the first podcast anthology was launched.
