Strange things happen when the lights go down in the shady setting of the Roseville Hospital. Unexplained sightings of a man resembling that of a doctor is known to walk the hallways in search of patients he has yet to help. His name was Derek R. Schillar, M.D. He was a complicated man with a desire to help people, but felt that he didn't do enough. Now, his friend has betrayed him, his wife thinks he's dead, a mysterious detective is on his trail, and the medical staff is perplexed at the growing number of inexplicable miraculous phenomena occurring within the hospital walls. Is there an answer? Why is a dying boy drawing pictures of this man? And just who is Mr. Dead Eyes?

It found it kind of interesting that you said in the very last podcast this was the 10th version of the story. I felt it could have used another version or two or have someone look it over with a critical eye. There were a lot of clumsy sentences and in some parts you repeated the same words a few times, which is awkward to the ears. I don?t expect professional writing from Podiobooks but there should be some competence. As for the story, it had it?s interesting moments, enough to keep me listening. The middle was the best part, where Dead Eyes was figuring his powers out. I think you needed to build the relationships between the characters more before the murder. It took me a while to get into the story and I think that was the main reason. However, the chapters after the murder and even the murder itself was very well done, I kept hoping the story would get better from then on and it did but nothing in the story reached the height of those scenes. I know it?s kind of harsh to comment on a story that was posted two years ago and I hope you figured out some of the issues with the sound by now. There were a lot of parts I just couldn?t hear (I listened while on a train heading to work and while working out) and you need to take into account that not everyone will be listening in the best environment. That said, the sound of the ghosts talking was really well done (when I could hear them.) I noticed you don?t have any more stories on Podiobooks (did a search for you name) so I hope you haven?t given up. I?d like to hear more from you since I did find the story interesting and it did keep me interested in it enough to want to finish. As someone who has a bunch of Podiobooks all ready I would encourage anyone to keep it up and since this is your first I really should give you a mulligan on it (especially since my first one I can?t listen too cause I hate it so much, but I?m my own worst critic.)

I liked the book, but there were a few areas that I had trouble with. I think that if you want constructive criticism, I would write more of a beginning. Tell about how the two characters became friends and then antagonists. What were they trying to accomplish with the drug, etc. etc. The rest of the story was good. Middle and end were great, I think you just need more of a beginning. There was a minor error in the audio and I did not like how you did the ghost voices, only because it was hard to hear them. Your narration was really good and you really brought these characters to life. I think you could be the next Dean Koontz with a little more development. Good job and thank you for making this available. I love audio books and appreciate being able to get them for free.
