Patrick- Thank you so much! I'm really glad you gave it a try and are enjoying it! One of the great things about creating a story yourself, is that you get to make the calls about names, etc. And while I love imaginative stories, I like to do things my own way so I tried to make the setting, characters, and story unique. Jane- Our reactions to stories are personal and subjective, of course, but I need to be invested with the characters before the big action begins--it makes it all mean more to me somehow. That's not to say I consciously did DoD that way, because developing the story has been a very unconscious, organic process, but I'm guessing that's why it doesn't start with a huge bang. Anyway, I'm thrilled that you are enjoying the story and don't want to give anything away, but I will say the stakes are going to continue to go up. Thanks so much for your thoughts. Renee, wow! I was a bit tepid from the synopsis but gave Dreaming of Deliverance a shot anyway and I'm so glad I did. The first dozen chapters, and I'm thinking okay - intersting story, characters are growing on me, but what's the big deal...and then bam... you tear at my heart. Death! Danger! Evil! Now I'm fully invested in these folks, waiting for the next episode (and the next shoe) to drop. Thank you for a wonderful tale. Looking forward to the rest.
