Nominate your favorite serialized audio book for a Parsec award!

Got a favorite podiobook in the speculative fiction (think scifi or fantasy) genre that deserves from special recognition? Nominate it/them for a Parsec!

Back in 2005 (holy cripes), New York Times best selling author Tracy Hickman (he wrote The Immortals), podcasting guru and author Mur Lafferty (lots of free serialized audio books by Mur), and Farpoint Media founder Michael Mennenga (Deep Thoughts) founded the Parsec awards to recognize excellence in speculative fiction podcasting.

The first awards were given at Dragon*Con in 2006 and in the years since, the awards have evolved with the medium to best honor excellence in speculative fiction podcasting. This year there are 15 categories. You may find many books and stories on our site that fit nicely in the categories for audio drama, short story, novella, novel and more!

Nominations are open until 1 June 2011 so don’t wait. Nominations are taken from any listener and it’s a pretty painless process. You can nominate as many books as you like. Just make sure the books you nominate had new episodes come out between May 1, 2010 – April 30, 2011. All of the release dates of episodes are displayed on the book’s page here on Podiobooks.com if you aren’t sure. When in doubt, check the the eligibility requirements.

So get to nominating!
