Now releasing: The Secret World Chronicle, Book Three: World Well Lost
Yes, book two took a bit longer than anticipated to complete. But it did complete, thanks to the talents of one Veronica Giguere. Voice talent andtechno wizard? Good thing I’m married. And it’s a good thing she’s bringing the latest by the duo of Mercedes Lackey and Steve Libbey. The Secret World Chronicle, Book Three: World Well Lost starts right now:
Continuing the action and intrigue of the first two books, World Well Lost joins the ensemble cast of metahuman characters as they struggle against the growing powers of the Thule Society as well as Echo’s own waning popularity. Famed fantasy and sci-fi author Mercedes Lackey and newcomers Steve Libbey, Dennis Lee, and Cody Martin bring this superhero-themed braided novel podcast series to life with characters such as the Seraphym, Red Saviour, John Murdock, and Red Djinni.
You know the drill. Custom feeds for those who like one episode at a time over time. Default feeds for those who want as much as they can all at once. Either way, it’s a free audiobook!

It’s great to see the 2nd book finished and the 3rd book started.
Keep it up.

While pounding my way through a re-edit my first novel while studying at the U, this is the reward which I save for myself whenever I reach my goals. I’ve been a Lackey fan since I got my hands on a copy of Lark and Wren back in my teens… and an addict since I read Chrome Circle. Thanks for the fix!

Fun book, but am I the only one that gets a unbearable amount of background hiss?

I happened to come across this series while looking for things to listen to while at work and have been hooked ever since. It’s a rather interesting take on the whole “Super Hero” world. The stories are great, the Chars interesting, and the narration by Veronica Giguere is top notch. Keep up the good work Lackey, Steve, Veronica, and everyone on the SWC team.

Thank you SO MUCH for listening! We’ve got hours upon hours of story to keep telling, which means we’ll keep releasing new chapters each week. We’ve been working with remastering some of the episodes in response to fan notes and emails.

I love this series and this book. Each episode feels like a complete story in itself but each story links together to make an over arching larger story.
The characters are full of hero powers but under the surface some are just hoping that no one see the self doubt that is fulling there lives other are super powerful but will only watch. Others help the normals to move their own kind and personal friends out of their homes to relocate them for there own “good”. Other just want to help and heal but other are just in it for themselves.
The really bad guys are just under the covers ready to destroy it all.
I recommend starting with book one then moving on to 2 and 3. Also go the website they have some small background stories from world war II.
In short the world is expansive the characters are floored and varied the story is engaging and the reading is rock solid.
I gave this one a 5 star. Forget the next spiderman or Thor movie grab this story and adapt it hollywood this is orginal.

I love SWC, thank you all for keeping me so well entertained.
its great to have “Hero” stories which shows while the characters have powers and are hero’s they are also human and have flaws they help us relate and inspire us more. I love listening to this series, its the only podcast i have been able to stick with.
Thanks SWC.

I like how the singular heroes are developing a team spirit and trust. Getting the back story and understanding their origins makes them so 3 dimensional. Thanks for all your hard work. You are the 1st podcast I play!

I’m a BIG fan of the series, I’ve listened to all three books and the four stories from WWII. That said, Roll the Bones has me baffled. Who discovered the Thulian base? Why was JM sent in alone with VV watching him? There are others better suited for a soft probe and a powerful team would be better for a full take-down. The whole chapter just seemed to come out of left field.
On the other hand, who else is looking forward to hearing some tales of Vickie’s days in the field, before her injuries (and who hopes Bella can finally heal her so she can put Djinni in his place)? And what’ll happen when Djinni realizes Bulwark was married to the woman he loved?

audio warning. dont throw out your mp3 player it’s not broken. episodes 11-21 appear to be recorded in a way which only allows the voice to be heard if playing through speakers. (car, earphones, pc) i’ve seen this happen in another podiobook and he was able to fix the problem. ….
as for the book, it seems to have been rushed to produce. so audio bloopers and recording problems exist.
-the content itself is very entertaining! the characters and stories are great! and veronica masters the voices once again. but it is more like… a weekly science fiction action show, where there is no beginning and end to the story. just a building of great characters and episodes telling of their adventures. it could probably go on forever! (not a bad thing) next ‘season’ i hope to hear more fluid connections and interpersonal development between our heroes. i agree with a lot of mark g’s points.
overall, definitely worth the listen.

Not True, I listen to this on my mp3 player using a earjack connection to car speakers and it doesnt work. The only time i can hear the voice is if i play it through my PC. Really frustrating for me as i am a truck driver listen to audiobooks and podcasts while i drive.

It’s great to have well written and produced sci-fi to listen to while at work. Listened to the first book a few years ago and just finished listening to book 2 and 3. Only problem I have is that most of the female characters sound like whiny kittens when they are speaking. Really grates on the nerves. Other than that they are great entertaining stories!
