Virtual Vice
In Virtual Vice by Jason M. Kays, readers follow disillusioned entertainment attorney Ian McKenzie as his professional life takes a decided turn for the questionable when he is hired by the charismatic and dangerous Scott White to represent Scott’s interests in his cutting edge Internet startup, Metropoleis Multimedia. Unfortunately for Ian, Scott has more in common with Scarface’s Tony Montana than Apple’s Steve Jobs, and things go from questionable to deadly in no time flat. As Scott’s confidant and consigliore, Ian soon finds himself caught between the Feds, La Cosa Nostra, and the Cali Cartel in a fatal game of corporate winner-take-all. Kays masterfully weaves the nuts and bolts of legal maneuverings and corporate worst-practices into an engaging and unpredictable thrill ride of a crime novel. Filled with wry humor and twists and turns galore, Virtual Vice keeps you guessing and wanting more while entertaining every step of the way.

3,000 downloads in under 72 hours! Thanks to the Podiobook community for getting the word out. This site truly is an asset for authors that have grown weary of publishing conglomerates.
Kudos to Evo for all his hard work in keeping things running smoothly here. It’s nice to see a site owner so hands on with the day-to-day operations. A rarity.

cqan you tell me about the music…you mention the band name is kukin (sp?) please let me know how to get a hold of more on this band/person etc. (also, nice story…but it hits close to home for me as I have worked for a new-media sociopath before..very scary thing first hand.)
thanks..M.V.

Hi Mikko. The band’s name is spelled “Kookon”. The two albums used were Erase and Berlin. They can be found here: http://magnatune.com/. Thanks for your comments.

Intriguing story! Appreciate the great sound quality and music content, paced well and between episodes (as opposed to trying to listen to content around bad music).
Having worked in proximity of technology “executives” — more like white collar criminals with very big egos and poor technical knowledge depth — this story strikes me as all too real!.
