Special thanks to Meredith Matthews for adding to our selection of public domain titles with The Marvelous Land of Oz (Book 2 in The Oz Series).
First issued in 1904, L. Frank Baum’s The Marvelous Land of Oz is the story of the wonderful adventures of the young boy named Tip as he travels throughout the many lands of Oz. Here he meets with our old friends the Scarecrow and Tin Woodman, as well as some new friends like Jack Pumpkinhead, the Wooden Sawhorse, the Highly Magnified Woggle-Bug, and the amazing Gump. How they thwart the wicked plans of the evil witch Mombi and overcome the rebellion of General Jinjur and her army of young women is a tale as exciting and endearing today as it was when first published over eighty years ago.
These files were originally produced by a Librivox volunteer. Meredith put them in the format we needed and we’re happy to present them to you. All 10 episodes are available, so nab them all on the default feed, or appreciate them delivered one at a time from the beginning with a custom feed.
Note also that the first book, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is also available from us in a completed title with 23 episodes.

Odd. The site’s search function doesn’t bring up either of them when choosing “Public Domain” from the dropdown menu.

Not all that odd, Zeus. Our current system only allows for a single category. Both of these are listed under Chidrens, I think.
