What a great book, but where's the sequel? It's been a couple years bud, get back on the horse! You've developed Ananse into a great character and your version of him should have more than one tale. Anyway, great job on both the writing and the acting-character voice work. I think this podiobook is way overdue for a couple of awards, just to bring more attention to it. Anybody reading this should be giving this book a shot.

I might be a tad on the late side, but... Even though I haven't listened to the book, the summary reminds me a lot of Neil Gaiman's "American Gods". Do the similarities end there or was it an active inspiration for the author? If it's an original story, I might give it a shot. Thanks for your reply!

Lost Gods By Drew Beatty

I had no idea what to expect when I started listening to Drew's book. I knew it was about ancient gods, and was very surprised with the imaginative way he saw this story.

He incorporated ancient gods into the modern world with ease and believability. I was impressed with his knowledge the ease he passed the information to his audience. I wasn't bored for one minute.

Drew's sense of timing and humor had me amazed and smiling all through this story. I like it and recommend it for any who want a good tale to pass the time.

Hey Jane,

I'm very glad to hear you liked the story, and the finish. I hope you will tune in to my next book, whenever I get that finished!

Hi Drew, I loved Lost Gods from start to very creative and unexpected finish. You have quite a cast of unfamiliar characters, but they were all so well written that I had no trouble keeping them all sorted out. Good luck with publishing and thanks for presenting your work in this format.

Hey Juuro,

Glad you enjoyed it - the science I bent to suit the needs of the story. I gave up writing science fiction because I found keeping on the straight and narrow too hard!

Thanks again rabarts for the kind words.

Read my review of Lost Gods here:

http://podagogue.blogspot.com/2009/06/podcast-novel-review-lost-gods-by-drew.html

"Lost Gods is equal parts dark supernatural thriller, grifter tale, and black comedy. The final chapters wind up towards some of the best twists I have come across in storytelling for a long time, particularly in podcast novels. For sheer "I-never-saw-that-coming" value, this is a winner."

I love it when mythology finds its way to the mundane world. My heartfelt thanks for a good listen. I recall I had minor nitpickery over some of the science, but then, I usually have.

Hey John,

Sorry for the lateness of my reply! I was sure that I had responded already.

So, you can also listen to my 1st novel White Trash Land here at Podiobooks.com, and I have a short story on www.horroraddicts.net. If you check out my main blog at www.drewbeatty.com, I usually update it with stories and things of that nature.

Thanks for listening!

This is a great story! IBarry said it all so I will just thank you for writing a great story. And yes, I will not forget to look up the other book (White Trash Land ) or to make a donation to you.

Do you have any other books or short stories in print/AudioPod?
Please keep them coming.
