Sweet Dreams
Enter Emmy Z. Madrigal’s world of musical romance as she launches the first book of her series, Sweet Dreams:
At twenty-one, Rob Malloy is a successful San Francisco entertainment manager and has achieved more than most men twice his age. Wealthy and famous for closing any deal, he may seem to have everything a man could want. However, he longs to meet a woman he can share his life with.
Victoria Knox is a poor eighteen year old student who dreams of nothing but becoming a singer. Dating is the last thing on her mind when she accidentally bumps into Rob in an airport gift shop on Christmas day. Instant attraction draws them to one another, despite their different lifestyles. Looking as if he stepped out of a GQ ad, Rob exudes high class and money. Victoria is convinced he is too good for her, but Rob is immediately attracted to how she freely shares her innocently opinionated views. He likes her down to earth personality that is such a breath of fresh air compared to the gold digging socialites he is normally plagued with.
In this love story, Rob introduces Victoria to a high society world where she meets the rich and famous. For the first time she dares to believe her dream of becoming a singing star is possible through Rob’s industry connections. However, Rob is different from anyone she has ever met and she fears she won’t fit into his world. Her mother adds fuel to Victoria’s misgivings by questioning Rob’s intentions. Though sincere, Rob may have trouble convincing his country club parents that Victoria is a proper match. Join Rob and Victoria as they battle social class lines, parental disapproval and ghosts from their pasts to prove that their love is meant to last.

Every time I listen to a chapter of this book, I smile. So far it is what every young girl dreams of as she becomes an adult. I am taken back to those days and that is not a bad thing at all! Thank you, Emmy.

Though I am a man, one who loves his wife of 21 years. Still, I enjoy romance. I must say, you did a nice job with this book. My only issue is Rob’s voice. He speaks too slowly and nasaly. The voice dows not match the character as I see him. Still, the story is comfortable and as a plus, Victoria’s voice is sweet, and truly sounds as youthful and innocent as the described character. Anyway, thank you, and please give us another read.

Emmy has fashioned a story that finds Victoria and Rob in the beginnings of a passionate love and the start of two careers. Sweet Dreams is a tale that will appeal to those young at heart and those who remember the feelings of new love.
Good job, Emmy.

I really loved this book! I wish every romance novel was as well-written as this one! You have written both Rob and Victoria so well, as very diffrent and seperate people who obviously love each other and for very good reasons. Please consider releasing the next book to us.

Great story, but the reader has the most robotic voice I have ever heard….Rob sounded creepy and Victoria sounded like she was 5. It would have been so much better getting someone who has a great reading voice to do this.

This is a sweet and naive story.
Although I made it all the way through I am not the target market. I will not download any further story’s in this style.
The author should make it clearer to potential listeners who her target market is.
My best guess is young girls between 15 and 20?

This is very sweet story and I will listen to the other books because I do like the characters. A few things, though. Although Victoria is 18 she is still in high school and I think it is irresponsible of the author to be promoting sex in high school students. It would have been very easy and no change to her story line to smply have Vicotoria be a granduate waiting for college or a first year college student. Please let’s send a responsible message to our kids! I agree with other commenters as well, this is really geared to more of an older YA group. Her phraseology is often very “teen”…eg. Rob was so cool. It made Victoria sound even younger in addition to the very young voice. The author tried very hard with her narration but I also found her to be rather robotic and too slow paced. She seemed too precise. Relax and allow some affect and flow in the voices! All in all a good job, congratulations on taking the step to put this out here for people!
