Listen like a pirate day!
Avast, maties! Today be the annual Talk Like A Pirate Day. And beggin’ yer pardon, but I aim to show ye a few of the pirate themed talkin’ books we have here on Podiobooks.com.
The very first pirate-y book we put up here the site was Tee Morris’ Morevi. It has a pirate, Rafe Rafton, as one the main characters. And the scurvy author is updating that book with a remastered version, though the swab isn’t quite yet through.
Next is Pirate Jack by Alessandro Cima. An adventure for the younger set aboard the pirate ship ‘Revenge’ be the theme of this story.
But don’t think we pirates is all about the past. Why we pirates will continue to exist in the future! David Lee Summers tells us so, in The Pirates of Sufiro. No plank-walkin’, obviously. Or try Christiana Ellis’ Space Casey for a lighter side of piracy of tomorrow.
Even anthropologists aren’t safe from us salty dogs. In Flores Girl: The Children God Forgot by Erik John Bertel, we see corporate raiders and dwarfs mixed with pirates! A sight to behold, I’m sure.
And if the looting and pillaging of true pirates isn’t your thing, yet yet still enjoy a good ship-story, try anything by Nathan Lowell. It’s a good sea-worthy adventure… even if his ships ply the interstellar void instead of the high seas.
Oh yeah… AAARGH!

I want to bury my booty but where’s the map?
Okay enough pirate talk. I’d love to see something on “My Subscriptions” page - a check box next to the donations box, so I can keep track of which subscriptions I’ve contributed too (yes I have contributed to several). Help my guilt feed your coffers, and include “the pay the podiobookers (staff)” up near the top of the page. I love audible, but probably would feel the pay pain more if I had to click, click, click…. if podiobooks had a monthly subscription donation…. hmmm latte or audiobook?

Both ideas are great, Anne. The first on is doable. We just need to get a true shopping cart integrated with the site. It’s on the roadmap, but we never seem to get to it.
The second is harder. Getting you to pay us monthly is easy. Figuring out a fair and equitable split of those monies across the books you listen to is more complex. Right now, you’re wishes are easy to figure out.
