The Trolls of Lake Maebiewahnapoopie

I’m happy to welcome jeff white (and yes, that’s how he capitalizes his name) back to the site. His latest book, The Trolls of Lake Maebiewahnapoopie, adds to our Children’s section. Be sure and say the name of the lake out loud for the full effect:

You may think you know about small towns.

You may think you know about high school principals.

You may think you know about high society poodles.

If you’ve done some reading about the world, you may know think you know about superheroes.

If you’re very imaginative, you may think you know a thing or two about trolls.

And if you hang out with undesirable crowds, you may even know a thing or two about belching.

But none of that will prepare you for The Trolls of Lake Maebiewahnapoopie.

    Hello Martina,

I always think of the Trolls book as being rated “Pixar.” That is, I hope it’s enjoyable by all ages. I’m glad you liked it.

    Thanks for the good words.

  3. Chris Says:

Really enjoyable story, lots of action and great characters. I love the ending too. It seems those trolls had a rocking adventure.

    Hey there Chris.

I see your reviews all over this site. You must be quite the podiobooks listener! I’m glad you enjoyed the tale of the trolls. I had a blast writing it. Well, sort of a blast followed by huge bouts of frustration followed by sort of a blast. You know.

    Thanks for listening.

    Jeff,

I’ve been listening to your story on the train to and from work, and the only bad thing I can say is I get really odd looks when I either grin or laugh at your story playing in my headphones. I don’t mind, though. It’s rare to find a story that makes me laugh in public like that.

I love your writing style, and I love your narration. You have the perfect voice for this. I hope this isn’t your last work on here; it would be a tragedy.

I look forward to your next chapter on my iPod!

    Nia

To readers trying to decide whether or not to listen: GO FOR IT. Just because it’s a kid’s story doesn’t mean you won’t enjoy it! It’s light, it’s fun, it’s a good pace, and you won’t regret it!

    Hello Nia,

Your comments sure make me smile. Thank you.

Laughter is a good thing. Unexpected laughter is better. Laughter in places where it’s not quite appropriate…church, classrooms, trains…is the best. So I hope you’ll forgive me if I sorta feel honored that you’re laughing with me, even if it gets you odd looks.

  7. Carmen Says:

Jeff, thanks so much for this book. My two sons get to listen to two episodes a night before bed, and they LOVE the story. They’re always eager for story time. The narration is perfect, too.

    Carmen,

It’s always very satisfying when I hear that children are connecting with this book. Thank you.
