Hi, Martin. Thanks for the feedback! Give the sound files you found to be scratchy another listen if you get a chance, and let me know if you still detect an issue...? I think it may have been caused by the opening tags that were automatically added to the stream. As of now, those were removed and I think it's back to normal.

Neill - Glad you enjoyed it!

This is a good story and a good idea to have done it as a podiobook. I am really enjoying it - except for the poor audio quality. I am very suprised to see that Audio quality has been given 5 stars here, as it is not good. - I am referring to the scratchy sounding narration, whether this is caused by file compression or a poor microphone, or a micropohone too close to the mouth I dont know, but it is very noticeable.

Excellent job! This is one of my favorite books from the "super science space opera" genre that Campbell and "Doc" Smith did so well . I hope you will consider completing the trilogy by recording Islands of Space and Invaders from the Infinite.

Another of Campbell's series "for your consideration" (as they say during Oscar season) are the two books The Mightiest Machine and The Incredible Planet.

Thanks again for the great job!

Many thanks to those who are listening! We are heading into the home stretch with the final story now underway. The prologue to Book 3 will be the longest episode in the series, and the remaining chapters will be on the longer side of the overall average length. We're currently on track for the book to be completed by the end of January.

Sometimes life very spectacularly tells you when you are doing too much. I have made the very tough decision to step away from composing for PRT. A fantastic (and certainly currently less stressed and overworked) composer has jumped in to allow Contents Under Pressure to get to you without even a hiccup.

The good news for Black Star Passes, though, is that we should be back to weekly from this point on. In fact, I'm going to try and squeeze in 2 a week for a run so that the book will be complete before the end of the year.

Unfortunately I find myself in the difficult position of needing to apologize for another delay. There's some good news to this apology, though. The main reason (aside from my having a 6 day work week in September and October) is that I'm currently composing music for the upcoming 2-hour, 6-part Arbiter Chronicles episode which has a planned release schedule of every 2 weeks starting this Friday (9/26/08). For those of you who stumbled upon my readings here because of the work with Prometheus, then you'll very much enjoy the coming story. And hopefully you'll enjoy the music!

As far as Black Star Passes goes, the release schedule will likely be every 2 weeks for the next 2 or 3 episodes and then I should be back on track with weekly. Thanks for your patience, and thanks for listening. Feedback is always welcome!

Apologies on the slight delay in the next episode, for those who might be eager. My neighbors were having their windows replaced over the weekend and the very noisy work was happening during those times I had intended to record. It should only be a day or two...

Nice. I'm glad to see more of these Pub Domain type works showing up here. (where might be a good place to find these in text? I might try to record one)

However I notice this (and a few others) that are Pub Domain are not in the Pub Domain category in the search. does the system only allow for single category association?
