I just listened to this today. The stories were okay. I do feel as if they were rushed. I get the whole short story concept but these left me feeling like something was left out.

As far as the actual audio I was not impressed in the slightest. There is no need for all the sound affects. The “thinking sound” was a bit much. It sounded as if the narrator walked into a empty room and the sound reverberated off the walls. I know where they were trying to go with it but it just didn’t work. And the scribbling in the notebook and turning the pages was overkill and distracting.

The narrator needs to read a bit slower as well. Mainly in the first two stories. There was no feeling in the words and I felt like I was listening to a junior preschooler reading his book report. If you have to take a deep breath and swallow in the middle of a sentence clearly you did not pace yourself.

the narration was great,and the stories were different, but the dialogue was two diminsional and flat.All of the stories read like a rough draft waitong for to be re-written several times over.

Great dark stories! I love the unexpected endings some stories had. Very well written and very well told.

When can we listen to volume 2?!?

Great set of stories! I really enjoyed them, the best of lot being Chapter 2. That one kicked me in the balls!

I’ve listened to a number of titles at podiobooks now and this was the most enjoyable yet. Brilliant stories brilliantly read, giving me all kinds of different reactions, i want more!

I really enjoyed these stories, and Robert’s wife who reads them has a luxurious voice. My favorite stories are “Charity and the Vampire” and “The Family Tree” (which has the only “happy ending” of this series. This author’s first book out of the gate has some good stories and their first podcast is worth the listen.
