When we read or hear about vampires we often don't know what caused the original person to become a vampire. We just read or hear about the gore and grief that is caused by vampires. But in Emerian Rich's Night's Knights, it is all explained. Emerian has a turn on the story we all know, an original step away from the myths and legends we know, into a world completely unexpected yet welcome.

I suggest you listen Night's Knights and meet Jespa, the heroine who undergoes a complete transformation from a tough street girl, to…. No You are going to have to read it. Become completely engrossed in each character and care about their end. And find out why it has the intriguing title of Night's Knight's.

This book left me smiling at the end and wondering where Emerian's story telling will take us next.

Yes, her voices take a few chapters to get used to however, the story kept me coming back.

I really enjoyed this book. The story was engaging and I was eager to hear what came next. The plotting was great - I appreciated the various deviations into the past that explained what people did in the present. The characters were believable and well fleshed out and not un-naturally "good" or "evil". I eagerly await what comes next. Thank you.

I cannot say that this podiobook was one of my favorites. I got used to the voices, but still found them not really enjoyable to listen to. I certainly would not equate this author with Anne Rice, but I would not cast this story into the worst list of things I have heard in the podio world. It is somewhere in the middle. The story ending was a bit rushed sounding to me with the major epic battle and seemed to be solved a bit too easily, but that is my opinion. all the characters could be told apart, but some of the voices were grating on the ears, especially the male voices. I do not know that I would listen to anything else by this author.

Night’s Knights by Emerian Rich Horror/Dark Fantasy Great entertainment and allot of fun to listen to. I like the author’s voice and have really enjoyed the many voices the author has done. Good job! She just has a very special voice that takes getting use to. I have only listened to a few vampire books. I would put this one on the top of my list. I did not expect the novel to go where it did. I’m glad the author didn’t go to the evil vampire that either just kills to kills or the vampire hunter. The story line was very well written. Love the plot line with all the different characters all the way to the end and can’t wait for the next book!

I like the author's voice and have really enjoyed the many voices the author has done (yes, most seem to be done with editing software, but the time and effort involved is staggering). Good job!

I am not particularly a vampire or horror genre fan, but I did find the story interesting.

As someone who abandons three-quarters of audio novels within the first few chapters, it is essential that you listen through episode 3 before deciding to continue with the story or not.

The author podcasted this novel as a straight read and only added some flair to the voices to help listeners tell the difference between the characters. If you want a podcast with a full cast of people doing it, then please look up audiodrama. (*That drunk in the beginning of the podcast - you're not supposed to understand what they say as Jespa does not understand it.*) I found the novel, podcast, and the characters engaging and fun.

oh my god.

this book is for teenagers.

and not smart teenagers.

my tip to the author: major rewrite, and make it into an audiodrama...y'know, with cast members...ones with actual voice talent?

I was not a big fan of this podiobook. Mistake #1, the author should recognize her own weakness and that is her voice. Trying to sell your own work is hard enough, but in this medium it sure helps to have a nice voice and Emerian does not and it distracts from the work. The music was also a poor choice and did not do its job to create mood or segway into the next scene. I was disppointed with the ending and thought she sold out.

The voices take some getting used to, but I LOVE the fact that you post several chapters at once and you're very good at posting regularly. There are other podiobooks that I am hooked on but there is no schedule for postings and they will go several weeks between postings and it can make it hard to get back into between chapters. With others, I have to listen to the chapter before (again) before listening to the latest chapter just so I know that I am following the story line like before.

Keep up the great work!!!!

This is more than a well-written book, it's a great audio-drama. Emerian Rich does a marvellous job of bringing the podcast to life with a vast and wonderful range of sound effects and atmospheric music. It's a very entertaining podiobook experience.

Emerian Rich has created an intriguing and gripping story. And most importantly it's fun. I enjoy the characters and their interactions and think that Emerian has done a good job with the writing. Keep up the great work. Colin.
