Fictional Facebook Friending
Nope, not a(nother) rant against social media — far from it! Many of the leading Podiobooks.com authors have been using social networking sites like Facebook to better connect with their fans for some time now. I just found out that Basil Sands, author of the military thriller audiobooks 65 Below and Karl’s Last Flight, has set up a Facebook profile for Marcus “Mojo” Johnson, the hero of 65 Below.
After all of the listeners who have written in and commented on how much they liked 65 Below and wished they could experience life in Alaska I talked Marcus “Mojo” Johnson, the main character from the book, into making a Facebook page where fans can chat with him and ask questions, have a discussion, or let him know what they think about the story and the characters in it.
So, fans of 65 Below (that would be me), fire up your Facebook profile and start friending! Basil also tells me he’s going to have a contest to let his more artisit fans come up with their own renditions of what Mojo and his lover Lonnie might actually look like. Go Basil!
