Stalk our authors without getting arrested

twitter logoMany of you out there have discovered the magic of Twitter, the micro-blogging craze that asks a single question “What are you doing?” of it’s users. Of course, most of Twitter’s users completely ignore that questions and simply type out up to 140 characters worth of whatever is on their mind at the moment.

Some of us think that is cool. Many do not. We’re OK with that.

Many of our authors have really taken to Twitter, and push out lots of promotional and event information to the larger Twitter community. We use the service to update all who are listening when new book and episodes are added to the site, when the final chapter of an in-progress book is posted, and anytime we make a post on the Podiobooker blog.

And as cool as Twitter is — it’s not for everyone. It’s very busy and not everyone is willing to install new software (not that you need to), seek out new “friends” to follow (and it’s kind of pointless if you don’t), or obsessively check their Twitter page every three minutes to see who’s posting what. Rumor has it that many of you actually have a life. Go figure.

Well here’s a way to keep up with the conversation our authors are having on Twitter without taking the plunge yourself:

Add this feed to your RSS reader: feeds.feedburner.com/Twitter/PodiobooksWithFriends

No muss. No fuss. And as new authors climb on board the Twitter wagon, I’ll make sure to add them to this “master” feed. Remember that you won’t be able to communicate back — you’ll need to sign up for a free Twitter account to do that. But if you are more of the lurker, this might be the thing for you. Provided you really want to know what our authors are sharing to their Tweeting friends. Watch the conversation at your own risk!
