Great story with interesting characters and social / strategic interactions! And Tee Morris (as Rafe) and Philippa Ballantine (as Askana) are one hell of a dynamic duo in this audio production!

But there are some audio problems, esp. at the beginning, but these didn`t spoil the fun listening to this audio book – at least for me.

@raidven: Not being a native speaker of English myself I don`t
understand your listening comprehension problems (esp. if you`ve been living in the US for six years now). Inspite of the poor audio quality at the beginning I could follow the story
quite well. And after the first episodes it`s getting better & better!

Perhaps it`s a good idea to skip the first 2 episodes, start with episode 3 and come back to the first ones later? It`s definitely a story worth listening to!

Hi everyone. A bit about me: I am not an English speaking native. I’ve been living in the USA for the last six years. I’ve been learning the language ever since. Nowadays I’m finishing a bachelors’ degree in Entertainment Technology. Indeed, this is why I am so interested in podcasting. I had the opportunity of listening to all the series ‘Podcasting for Dummies by Tee Morris’ and I really enjoyed it. I’ve subscribed also this remastered version of Morevi. I’m kind of disappointed though, since I try and try, but I can’t understand Tee readings of this apparently wonderful audio-book. I really can’t follow the plot. Is it that there are too many audio problems? It there a way I coul read and hear the podcast at the same time? I’ve just listened the first two episodes and I really don’t know what’s going on. Well, if somebody knows a way let me know.

Tee Morris’ “Morevi: Re-Mastered” is one of the top fantasy novels I’ve listened to on Podiobooks.com. I’d be hard pressed if I was forced to choose between it and Philippa Ballantine’s “Chasing the Bard.”

Tee Morris has created a fluff free epic that captures the best elements of “Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl” and “Dangerous Liasons.” Tee Morris takes the classic stereotype that stories featuring intrigue need to be paced sedately and tosses it out the window. “Morevi” blends high adventure and political plotting brilliantly.

“Morevi: Remastered” features an ensemble cast of voice actors. If you are familiar with podiobook authors, odds are you will hear one of your favorites in this book. Tee Morris and Philippa Ballantine lead the cast magnificently. JC Hutchins, George Hrab, and Christiana Ellis are just a few of the other talented actors you will hear throughout the book. Given the raw amount of talent amassed here, it is unsurprising that the performances are top notch. Philippa really shines in the female lead.

The overall sound in “Morevi: Remastered” is a mixed bag. This novel has the most professionally mixed sound effects that I can remember listening to. Many authors make the mistake of mixing sound levels too high. Tee doesn’t do that, even with cannon fire. Yet the book also has some extremely unprofessional popping and a few lost words at certain points in the novel. It actually caused pain to my ears during chapters 7+8.

Overall, I strongly recommend you give “Morevi: Remastered” a listen if you enjoy adventure, fantasy, or intrigue. If you’re worried about the popping issue, buy the book. It’s in print. You can go order it from Amazon.com right now. But I think you’ll be missing out. The exemplary voice acting and stellar sound effects really do add something to the experience. This book easily earned the highest donation I’ve ever given to a novel off Podiobooks.com. And you can download it for free and decide afterwards. So do it already!

Remastered? I shudder at what the original must have sounded like.
I don’t appreciate having to constantly play with the audio controls to hear the speech. I appreciate even less having my ear drums blasted by ridiculously loud sound effects, made deafening by having my speakers cranked so I can hear the words.
I don’t generally criticize other people’s hard work, but this is simply shoddy, and I doubt any hard work actually went into the audio, based on the quality.
Whether the story is any good, I couldn’t say, I’d have to be able to listen to it in order to find out.

This is the best written and read story I’ve heard in a long time! Awesome voice talent, sound quality and sound effects. This is one that I will have to listen to again just to see if I missed anything. This podcast should get every award out there in the Podcast nation. Seriously!

Tee Morris’s Remastered version of Moravi is a must listen for everyone. Listeners of the original Maravi will turely enjoy the added voice talent and higher production values of this remastered verhsion.

Tee Morris takes us on a epic adventure ful of action, romance, and pirates (Pirates make everything awesome). The voice acting in this book is awesome, the plot is exciting, and the chemistry between Pip and Tee is awesome, and the other voice actors do perfect jobs at portraying their characters that are well written and entertaining.

A slight issue for me was the fact that Tee did not go back and re-record everything in the novel. Because of this, the volume at times changes. I also at times found the music to be a bit heavy handed and unnecessary (I love the opening theme but some of the music in trhe palace scenes, I found distracting)

And okay, I guess the acting wasn’t perfect. I found the portrayal of King Henry to be a bit stiff, and over the top.

But these flaws are nothing compared to the story Tee has crafted with this book. The action scenes in this book are the best written scenes out of a podiobook i’ve seen, and I’ve never been so on the edge of my seat in a podiobook before (with the exception of 7th son)

I’ve never loved heroes so much, and I’ve never loed to hate villians so much in the way that Moravi made me.

It was a long and bumpy ride, but well worth it. Captain Tee Morris and crew have sailed a stormy sea, but finally dropped anchor in a safe harbor.

If you never before heard of Morevi, stop whatever you are doing, hoist your best privateers costume, and get this story. It’s an amazing story, one that will shiver yer timbers, guaranteed!

I mean, an exciting adventure story about ninjas, pirates, pirating ninjas, and ninja-pirates. What could be better? Did I mention ninjas and pirates? But wait there’s more!

It has gripping seabattles, massive explosions, and even a love story.

Sadly though and this is the only slight for the story I can find. It does not offer an answer to the age-old question “Which are better, ninjas or pirates?”

But in all seriousness. This story should be on anyones podiobooks list, and on everyone’s bookshelf. Get it now!
5 out of 5 stars for me.

Sidenote, yes, there are some issues with sound at times, It’s because the author used sound clips from the original 2005 version mixed in with newly voiced clips. If you give up on the story on sound quality, I do think you are missing out on a grand adventure.

I’ve had fingers burned in the past with books not being finished so now I wait till I have it all before I start listening.
I’ve been downloading this since last November and have decided to listen to the first version as this is taking far too long. Sorry Tee I’ve seen so many rave reviews for the story I just cant wait any longer to hear it for myself lol.

I’ve listened through the first 2 chapters and I’m giving up. Volume ranges from earsplitting (ouch!) to inaudible. The narrator’s voice changes jarringly from sentence to sentence, sometimes to the point where it sounds like two or three people doing a tag-team reading. Throw in the inconsistent character accents and it’s a true mess. I can’t really believe the audio and production quality of this “remastered” version is better than the original. I’ve listened to a lot of podcasts, some of them very amateur, and this has got to be the worst I’ve ever heard. Maybe if a re-remastered version comes out I’ll try again.

I’m looking forward to listening to this one, rather than the original, especially since I’m enjoying the Baddings book very much. My only question is this: why did the author switch from a very professional and beautiful title page of the book in the original podcast to something that looks amateurish in my opinion? There must be a story behind this, and I hope to find out. Thank!

Morevi is an amazing story full of all things ninja and pirate goodness. This is one of the few podiobooks I would label as a “must listen”. The voice actors are dead on in their characters and the story is AMAZING. If you’re not listening yet, subscribe. You won’t be sorry.

From what I have heard, this remastering uses newly recorded stuff, but also reuses parts of the original podcast. That will account for the difference in audio quality.

But indeed the levels are sometimes off. I have encountered that problem as well.

BTW, the older version is an abridged version.

Will review this story later.

I have the same problems as Steve. It sounds as if some audio sections were heavily compressed with filters applied to reduce the noise – giving it the “hollow” tin can sound. Also, the audio levels are not consistent per voice. Sometimes I can’t pickup some of the voices so I’d have to boost up the volume on my iPod. The next voice blares too much.

I’ve never listened to Morevi and I wanted to go through it fresh with the remastered version, but I’ll probably have to listen to the older version instead. Pity.

I never heard the original format, but I absolutely love this story. The political intregue and the wonderful characters keep it moving along, and the voice acting is astounding! Keep it up!

I’m wondering if I’m listening to the same files as everyone else. Don’t get me wrong, I’m enjoying the story, it’s great; but the quality of the audio has been terrible. It sounds like this gets recorded in several different locations using different equipment. Sometimes the reader sounds fine, sometimes it sounds like he’s reading inside a 55 gallon drum… and it changes in the middle of a segment of dialog which leads me to think it’s been edited together from recordings done at different times and possibly in different locations. Sometimes it’s bad enough that the same character will sound like it’s being voiced by a different person in the middle of a paragraph and change back in the next paragraph. Am I getting the wrong files…?
