i admit, while i was quite weary of the magical realism genre, i was very pleasantly surprised by this book. i enjoyed the characters (i’m a sucker for characters) and the whimsy added a succulent touch to it. i’m currently on my way to russell’s website to read more fiction.

Arana, thank you so much! I really appreciate it! I was so excited to see this, this morning. The characters probably feel real because, honestly, every single one is based on a real person and the CASA was a real group house in my hometown. Great bunch of crazy guys and girls.

awesome this guy has to have lesbian friends and some real cool other friends this book reminds me of the people i hung out with when i was coming out. dude is way an oracle him self
