The Gyssyc ship is in orbit above Ulliam; the Taskforce sent to meet them has been destroyed. Captain Cook fears the worst, the Gyssyc has declared war on the Ulliam. The crew of the Arwen must figure out what happened before a second fleet arrives, the fate of three races rests in their hands.
The Arwen Season 2: Ulliam is the sequel to th Parsec award winning novella The Arwen Season 1: Regal.

This story has interesting characters and an engaging story line. May I please, however, suggest you work with an editor (or at least a proof-reader). You keep having problems with basic English grammer and word usage. There are usually at least two or three ear-jarring problems each week that make it hard to settle back and enjoy what would otherwise be a ‘ripping good yarn’.

Nice and engaging story, a great scifi space adventure story. I definitely would like to hear a third season. I think the story has really developed nicely and lots of characters are involved a this point. I still think you could go a long way with the story and I want to see where it does go.

Timothy: How can you ask if you should write the third leg of the Arwen Trilogy? You introduced the antagonist in book one, obscured that fact in bood two with the revival of Mirriam, and then, in the last minute of the story, introduce the sleeping mennace and call into question all we thought we knew about the Jassic. This also gives you an opportunity to expand on that final enigmatic look on Mirriam’s face just before he died? What was that all about? Ah, and what could you make of it in a third story? Perhaps Mirriam was not exactly what we thought he was either. A third book: write on!

I would definitely be grateful if you could write a third novel in this series. It’s defnitely a good yarn…some characters and situations could’ve been better written or expanded upon (in my humble opinion :)…I’m not a writer though…so hat’s off to you! ) but all in all I give it a thumbs up.

Okay, the people have spoken and spoken loudly. Look for Arwen III sometime next year, I’m going to start writing it in January, my target date right now, as of 11/07/07 is June of 08.
Thanks for all the comments, as a writer it’s hard to judge how well the work is received without any feedback and over the past week or so I’ve gotten lots of feedback, both here and in e-mails, letting me know how much they’ve enjoyed both my Arwen tales and Ida, my other Podiobook. (plug!)
I always want to please the people who take the time to write and comment so, Arwen III will be for you guys! (And for me, Marjorie and the rest of the crew won’t let me sleep until I continue their story. My characters are like that sometimes!)

I like the characters, the aliens, and the story. I have to be honest though, and say that your grammer needs some work. There are often mismatched present and past tenses, and singular and plural conflicts. Those things can be fairly annoying, and maybe I’m being too critical, but I would think you’d like to put out the most professional reading possible. That being said, I would still enjoy hearing another season of The Arwen. Perhaps you could hire a friend to edit your story before you record it. Thanks for the interesting ideas and hard work.

You are great at conceiving a detailed world, likable characters and plots/mysteries with intrigunig depths - then throwing them into high tension situations that leave us poor readers teetering on the edges of our seats.
My only downer would be the naming scheme: Captian Cook? Professor Richter? Cliche?
But anyway, I’ve grown to love them and CAN’T WAIT for more.

I’ve enjoyed listing to both books while commuting to and from work. Traffic only means I have more time to listen before getting to my destination. I would like to know what happened to some of the characters and the ending only reinforces an earlier statement the Professor made about putting all their eggs in one basket… Please continue!!!

I really liked this one. The characters had depth, the story was engaging, and the plot well thought out. Though I would only deem he grammatical errors ‘mildly distracting’ at most, I would agree with Kim and Barry that they do needlessly tarnish this great piece of work. The one issue I did have was that I occasionally lost track of what seemed to be happening, and would have to ‘back track’ a section or two because I thought I had missed something. Although sequencing on the whole was good, the story did sometimes seem to lose the smooth transition between sections.

great books i dont get the chance to read so audiobooks are great.Loved the story line put me right there in the middle of it without getting carryed away with to much technican side off things.

Great series.. Listened to both seasons while traveling over Christmas.

Maybe you could get someone else to read the books for you. Did you know ‘corps’ is pronounced as ‘core’ (its a French word)?
All the characters act like teenagers. Other than that, quite enjoyable.

Timothy, I agree with the consensus and look forward to a third season with a few reservations. You have some remarkable talents. Your ability to conceive and convey a strange new universe is remarkable. The ideas you present remind me of the early work of Larry Niven.
As much as I enjoyed the settings you created and the science behind them, I was not drawn in by the characters. The interactions of the characters were not believable for me. I don’t feel a connection to any of them. For example, neither the Captain nor the Admiral inspired confidence. You led me to dislike the professor and never gave me a good reason to change that assessment.
The ability to bring characters to life is not easily mastered. I certainly don’t know the secret, but I see this as your primary hurtle. If you can overcome it, you could become one of the best.
I recommend you listen to some of Nathan Lowell’s work. He is your antithesis. He makes a science of character development but has a weakness with the science side of Sci-Fi.

I just finished both novels, one after the other and in one night. Yes, I would say I was enthralled with the Arwan series and I do hope the third novel will be on Podiobooks soon. I am blind so audiobooks are the only way for me. Thank you for publishing through Podiobooks, making these novels available to anyone with a computer.

I just finished book two and I thought I’d leave a comment, overall I enjoyed the book, however I think you could have added more to it.
I think I know what I’m talking about but its hard to explain.
To put it simply the decision to assassinate Miriam (sp?) seemed quite hasty and the execution a little clumsy. Altogether it felt kind of abridged and if you drawn out the situation I think it would have made for a more well rounded book.

I loved the books and can’t wait for season 3 to come out. You do a great job with the readings and audio quality. I have listened to some great books with sound qualit so bad you got a headache after each chapter…. but your books sound great!

I agree with Michael to some extent, but I think you have enough raw material for characters to make them interesting, if that’s what you want to do. But why do that if that’s not interesting to you? When you pick up a sci-fi book or watch an episode of Star Trek, are you asking for more action or more character? There’s definitely some popularly conceived balance, but it’s really a personal question. Nobody can make you change your style, and let’s face it: Arwen won a Parsec as a novella; with that much plot AND further character development, it would have been a novel.
The most obvious suggestion I would make that wouldn’t require any compromise on your part is to slow down your narration a little bit and listen to yourself talking a few times. This might help you catch the occasional grammar problems, and it might even help listeners who are occasionally confused by the plot follow along better. More importantly, it will let the listener revel a little longer in the world you’re creating. It’s obvious from the way you set music to your book that you have a definite emotional path that you’re leading the listener through: from calm, to excited, back again, and so forth. Take that a step further. Pause, emphasize, deliberate, vary inflection, mimic your characters voices, the whole works. I’m new to podiobooks, but am definitely starting to notice how far this takes a reading. Phil Rossi’s Crescent is probably the most elaborate example of this that I’ve come across, but even a minimalist like Nathan Lowell adds a nuanced dimension by the way he reads his work.
But enough of this. Your books rock! You asked for feedback, and you must be tired of listening to people like me who have never tried to write a novel or podcast it offer inexpert advice. You need to get over to the community forum and ask pointed questions about your work to other authors.
