Evo talking about audio replacing text fiction

I’ve just received my schedule for CopperCon, a local Phoenix science fiction convention which I’ve attended the last three or four years, I think. Though I’m no longer hosting any science fiction related podcasts these days, I certainly am looking forward to moderating this panel:

WHY AUDIO FICTION MIGHT REPLACE PRINTED TEXT IN THE 21ST CENTURY.
Where: Embassy Suites North (I-17 & Greenway, Phoenix AZ)
When: Friday, September 7th, 2007 @ 8:00 PM

Downloadable audio books are starting to appear in numerous places on the web, including such places as Fictionwise.com, Podiobooks.com, iTunes and more. This panel explores how writers can take advantage of web audio as an outlet for their fiction and where listeners can find great SF/F for their mp3 players.

It’s always exciting to see the word “podiobook” show up in an official publication. :) Come by and say howdy!

Interesting topic. I think that podcast/web audio authors should consider ways to get librarians interested. It is now more common than not for library patrons to have mp3 players. Since library budgets are always stretched I’ve been considering how web audio could be used to supplement library collections. When you consider that much of the web audio content is available under a Creative Commons license it seems like there are partnership opportunities.

Is there any chance that that this discussion will be available as an mp3?
