Matt Wallace story on Decoder Ring Theatre
Not satisfied with movie deals and screenwriting gigs, the author of The Failed Cities Monologues has a new short story available on the exceptionally good Decoder Ring Theatre podcast. Matt says:
The first half-hour episode of a brand new audio drama I penned for the Decoder Ring Theatre podcast has just gone live. For those not on the in, Decoder Ring, composed of director Gregg Taylor and his badass crew of Canuck thespians, produces all-new series in the old-time radio mold of the 30’s and 40’s. It’s one of my favorite podcasts, and for the next two weeks they’ll be featuring the pulp sci-fi adventures of Deck Gibson — Far Reach Commander on their Summer Showcase series. First up: Deck Gibson and the Stardust Dancers
From the Decoder Ring website: When Far Reach Control intercepts a distress call from members of a mysterious race, there is little time to spare. Only the pilot of the Far Reach 1, the only member of Earth’s feared Quasar Corps ever to fly under an alien flag, is close enough to assist. Can Commander Deck Gibson leave the past behind and protect the galaxy of wonder into which he has been thrust?Deck is written in the old-time radio vernacular and it’s certainly campy in that 1930’s-40’s gee-golly-gosh-whiz way, but I also tried to create a fresh concept with a real center to the characters and their universe. I also pulled a few retro cool touches from 70’s/80’s television and injected a little of those Farscape vibes. I ended up liking the whole established mythology of the thing a lot, and I hope you will too.
Speaking of Gregg and his outstanding cast, you can find four different stories from Decoder Ring Theater right here on Podiobooks.com. Seasons one and two of The Red Panda Adventures and seasons one and two of Black Jack Justice. Enjoy!

I’m a literary satyr, baby. I’m never satisfied when it comes to wordslinging.
