The Immortal
New in our spirituality category, The Immortal by JJ Dewey.
Acclaimed by readers worldwide, this first installment in The Immortal series presents unique and mystical teachings in a way that captures the imagination. In a provocative synthesis of both fiction and non-fiction, this dramatic story draws from the author’s many true life experiences to create an account of one man’s encounter with a virtual immortal–John, the Beloved, the Revelator, an Apostle of Jesus, perhaps the most mysterious man in history.
Joseph, the main character, perseveres in his unfolding journey to obtain greater knowledge and understanding of the higher truths and ageless wisdom…and the mysteries of the ages. What is true and what is fiction? That is for the reader to determine.

Overall I am enjoying the story but the short episodes, 3 to 5 minutes with an advertizement at the begining and the end, are very distracting. I’m currently listening to Chapter 8 and 2 of the parts have ended in the middle of a thought! If the complete chapters were released at once they would be much more enjoyable.

Ben, thanks for the constructive comment. In response, we have re-mastered all audio files for The Immortal and re-launched it with fewer, longer episodes. Each episode now is a complete chapter. What this means is that the previous feed (the one with the short episodes) is going away and is now replaced with a new feed. To continue at this point with The Immortal, please follow these three simple steps:
1. Unsubscribe to the old feed;
(***Note: New subscribers can disregard these instructions.)
2. Search for the book using the title “The Immortal” or by author “JJ Dewey”; then
3. Re-subscribe to the new feed with the longer episodes.
Thank you for your understanding, and we hope you continue to enjoy “The Immortal” podiobook.

Just finished the book. I generally like the beginning of the book. I think there are two things that could use improvement. The first is that the audio seems very monotone, nobody gets excited or happy or expresses any emotion during the reading. The second thing is that there aren’t any conflicts built up in the book. The antagonist and protagonist get along just dandy fine and virtually complete each others sentences throughout the whole back half of the book. I’d like to see some more struggle.

as interesting as the book is, i can’t help but feel it’s just a massive ploy to get you to buy the other books and make you feel poorly / ostracized if you don’t. i mean i understand it all and such and am interested in reading it but compelling others to buy your other books by implying they are else wise ‘not’ among the seekers is a pretty lame move in my opinion.
