I hope audio books do not contribute to motion sickness. I don't think they do as I always believed that the sickness resulted from a conflict between trying to offset the vehicle motion while attempting to read a book for instance. I think it has something to do with the inner ear.
I promote audio books, especially for high school English and I hope the students will listen to them on the school bus (without any motion sickness). Listen and learn going to/from school.

I suffer from motion sickness occasionally ( 100% of the time if I try to read ) but I cannot stand an audiobook for the life of me. Its like audio sickness... So ... Ugh...

Ya Know?

[Evo's note - This guy is good. Actually made a real and relevant comment, but posted a link to some anti-depressant drug site. So the comment stays, but your attempt at increased rankings would be foiled.]

As for me I wouldn't go for audiobooks to avoid of motion sickness. I'd listen to music instead. I like to read with my own eyes to get the idea better.

I agree with that idea, its a great way of entertaining youself on a long trip and still being able to look out the window. And thats the trick, You have to let your brain see the motion that your body is sensing or it gets confused and you feel icky.
I know for sure that audio books are a cure for heart sickness too lol.
Due to ill health Ive had to change my job to a fairly mind numbing sedentary one and listening to a book helps to eat up the hours.
God bless Podiobooks

I suffer from motion sickness and I’m sure that a great audiobook will keep my mind on other things and even the earphones can help me not get sick. I will try it next time.
I really think Audiobooks is great to listen to even without motion sickness.

Actually, it's not a cure for motion sickness. It is merely a form of entertainment which allows the person to see where they are going, which is the cure. If one were to stare down at the floor for the duration of the bus ride while listening to a podiobook, they'd have just as much motion sickness as they would if they were to play sudoku.

I don't get motion sickness, but twice a month I have to travel from North Carolina to Washington, DC. Last two trips: Scott Sigler. We'll see who's next.

It works for me! I'd love to read on a my train ride in the morning but I get motion sick very quickly, which is why I enjoy listening to my stories on my way to work.
