Top notch production….
Only problem is that it was too short.
If Badlands is a pre sequel, is there still going to be a Season 2?

I suspect my being a stodgy European has something to do with my stopping listening after the first episode. The presentation is packed so full of action and dramatics that it leaves me breathless, and not in a very good way at that. And as somebody remarked, the sound effects are a bit distracting at times; some things can be left for the listener’s imagination. Too bad; the concept would make for very captivating a podioplay for this listener in slightly more understated presentation.

I found the dramatic effects a little distracting at times. In some scenes it reminded me of listening to the television in another room. It came across as not describing what was taking place very well and relying upon the sound effects to deliver the meaning. I also had trouble taking the Brier Gant character serious. I have lived in the south all my life and still have not met anyone who speaks like that. Who was his voice coach, Foghorn Leghorn? Besides my very minor nitpicking, I did enjoy this.

The production is really top notch, but the writing and voice acting are comically heavyhanded– this is absolutely amazing.

Let me begin by saying that this is the best sounding podcast that I’ve ever listened to. Each character has their own voice and the use of sound effects is brilliant. I can tell a lot went into this podcast and it paid off. The author, Mark Yoshimoto Nemcoff, along with the other people associated with this podcast, is pushing the envelope with this. Now, to the story, I find it captivating. From the instance I hit play I was instantly taken with the story and the mystery of the town and its inhabitants. Since this is season one, I sincerely hope that season two will be released soon. I can’t wait for more!

I really liked this audiobook. It did a very good job of setting up the suspense, and it had a really great ending.

A very entertaining experience. Nemcoff has created an intriguing story that is very well written and makes you want more. (And Badlands is even better!) Except for a couple of cheesy acting moments, the cast is good too.

Shadow Falls is one of the best audio dramas I’ve ever heard. It was especially cool to hear such great sudio drama when the medium is all but obsolete on broadcast radio. Mark Yoshimoto Nemcoff does great work, and this is no exception.

I like this story and the guest narrators. The story leaves you with as many questions as you have answers. Guess that is a good reason to have Badlands. The characters get a little confusing at times, but that may be a personal problem I have when listening to audio books. Glad to see you are available through podiobooks finally. I find podshow difficult to work through occasionally…
