As the owner of 4 crazy dogs, I found Hunting Elf hilarious. The characters were very realistic and easy to relate to for me because I too adore my dogs who seem to live for trouble. I found myself remembering antics of my dogs throughout the story. The story is a great mix of comedy and caper. I recommend this book to everyone, but it is a must listen for dog lovers.

This is the funniest story I have had the good fortune to experience for a long time. I was at times forced to pull my car over to the side of the road for fear of loosing control at the side-splittingly hilarious scenes this story has in abundance. This really is a refreshing piece of work suitable for all ages. I enjoyed it from begining to end and found myself so completely abosrbed in in the story I was almost dismayed when it finally concluded. Dave Donelson is a master story teller and has done a fantastic job. I take my hat off to this exceptional piece of work.

This was a fun, fun book. As a dog and cat owner, I could completely relate to the antics of the animals involved from the disdain of the cats to what my husband and I call "sofa-surfing," wherein the dogs wipe their faces off after eating. Some parts of the story had me laughing out loud which, had any of my co-workers been close enough to hear me may have caught them off guard but, at worst, they simply saw me with a goofy grin on my face.

My only complaint would be in the poor audio playback of the snippets of the previous episodes prior to recording the current episonde. In spite of that, I found the narration by the author to be very good. I look forward to reading (and listening) to more of Mr. Donelson's work.

Hi Mitch,
Sorry to take so long to reply, but I've been on the road. There is a minimum of nasty language in Elf, although there are a couple of hard "darns" and more than a few double entendres. You'll find a few murders scattered throughout, but no graphic, bloody action. There are also a couple of brief scenes with sexual activity, but nothing you wouldn't see on TV (although that's not much of a guarantee these days, is it?).
Hunting Elf isn't a kids book, but my 10 and 11-year-old nieces enjoyed it. Hope you do, too.

I am looking for stuff I can play for my children on numerous long road trips we have to take.
What is the profanity level in this book?
Thanks

Quite enjoyed the book. What a comical little dog. I'm guessing I just listened to the last chapter in the book even though the Podiobooks things still says waiting for new chapters.

The ratings stars aren't working at the moment. The story is growing on me (I nearly unsubscribed twice). The humor becomes more adept as the story unfolds. Good job.

Way to go, guys!
