Scott Sigler Comes Out of the Closet to the New York Times

It was only a matter of time. Maybe he’ll be a little less angry now.
Kidding, Sigler. Call off your junkies.
But there is a really nice write up in the New York Times about Podiobooks.com (registration required), with quotes from me, Scott Sigler, J.C. Hutchins and Mark Jeffrey. They also talked to a few of the more enthusiastic listeners, as well as Gwen Gedes of Dragon Moon Press, publisher of print versions of a few of the free audiobooks available on Podiobooks.com.
I’m stoked about the article and give much props to Scott for bird-dogging the reporter and setting up such a great opportunity. And to all of you new members who came in from the article — welcome! We hope you enjoy your stay.

It is about time you came out of the closet Sigler. Nice story. Congratulations to all of you guys that are quoted in the story. That has to be good for all of us.

Awesome article for y’all. I’m glad to be able to say, “Yup… I knew them when…”
Scott did some nice product placement there… what with the Kraken’s jersey on the left… nice…
I wonder if this means my signed copy of EarthCore just went up in value?

Glad to see podibooks and Scott and the whole venue in general getting such wonderful coverage! (I didn’t have to register to read the article, btw.) This progression of author to podcast book to mainstream is amazing, I am really pulling for you guys to bring it off with much deserved success.
Keep up the good works (and great words!)

I didn’t read the article (congrats on that, BTW), but I was reminded of Podiobooks by Boing Boing coverage of the article. I’m a regular Escape Pod listener, and Steve Eley mentions the site often enough that I should have stopped by a long time ago, but who can remember such things while listening to good fiction?
I’m glad you guys are here. It’s a good thing for authors and listeners both.
