Top podcast novelist Scott Sigler shares unconventional promotional strategy
When it comes to shameless self promotion, it’s hard to top some of the guys who’s work you can find right here on Podiobooks.com. Tee Morris and J.C. Hutchins (both are also on staff here at Podiobooks.com) know how to get their names out there, but Scott Sigler continues to push the boundaries of promotion and marketing. Hey, he does it for a living outside of his writing, so it should come as no surprise.
Recently, Scott was interviewed on The Grid, a blog covering the virtual world of Second Life. Sigler tells what he’s doing and how he’s using new resources such as Second Life to spread the word of his book as well as engage his listeners/readers. Hutch made the first splash in Second Life, when his 7th Son Book Two release party crashed a few of the servers. Scott quickly followed suit and is taking it to new levels, having virtual post-game press conferences for the protagonist of his latest book, The Rookie, each and every week.
I love the sheer creativity and energy with which these guys forge ahead. All of it helps spread them meme of what we’re trying to do here at Podiobooks.com.

Those guys are my heroes in the podcasting world. I can only marvel at how great they are at promoting themselves.
The other amazing thing about them is how willing they are to help out other podcasters.

I too have come up with an unconventional promotional strategy.
Watch me lose my dignity - but thankfully not my pyjama bottoms - on Youtube.com.

I even mange to get a plug on there for Podiobooks.

It’s a new world for writers and fans - death to the old guard, let the revolution begin. Oh, did I say “death?” Damn. That’s metaphorical, of course …
