When we get promos… do you want to hear them?
Welcome to my little experiment. We’ve made promotional audio clips available for some of our titles. Great for podcasters to come and grab so they can feature the book on their site. But then it hit me…
Why not put the promos out on this feed when I post a book?
So that’s what I’m going to do. Of course, I have a few promos for older books. Rather than repost the book entry, I think I’ll just make a new post just for the promos of these older titles. And I’m gonna do that now, so let me know if this is a crappy idea. ‘Cuz here comes the first!

Great idea!
Not only would I like to hear the promo when considering a new book, but it’ll be great to email to a friend who might like to listen too.

Are you just talking about housing the file here or with the Podiobooks podcast feed as well? It would be nice to get the promos in our podcatcher as a nice bridge between full episodes put out by J.C. and/or the rest of the podiobooks team.

Promos are an excellent idea as they give a quick indication of what the podiobook might contain, as well as offer some content for those wishing to include it on their website or podcast. I’d even consider sending it to friends via email as a way to let them know about something cool that they could listen to.
Any other thoughts of how a person could use these files, people?

Sound like a good idea. Could we subscribe to automatically get the promos, and could you keep the length down to around 2-3 minutes as I only have dialup and already spend mostl my time downloading 4 Evo-casts and 4 podiobooks.

Thanks for using my promo as a test file. I think that a separate podcast feed for promos is a good idea.
