Sorry we were down - Now we are back!

Apologies all around for the last 72 hours. Contrary to a few wild rumors; no, I did not neglect to pay the hosting fees. We’d been talking about moving to a dedicated box for some time now if for no other reason than to give us a lot more flexibility when we (and by “we” I mean Chris and Rick) start coding the new stuff we’ve been talking about. Our time line got pushed up a little quicker than we wanted, and a few things in the move did not go as smoothly as we had hoped.

But we’re all better now. The site just went back up, and Chris is furiously checking things and making some final tweaks. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been JONESING for some of my subscriptions! All should be well. If not, let us know. And we’ll keep our eyes on things for a while. Moving always sucks.

Thank God you are back up. But evidently not all is well just yet. I don’t seem to be able to manually release the next episode. It launches to a blank screen and never actually releases the next episode.

Good luck guys, my iPod has been lonely.

Hi Guy’s , same here , blank screen when trying to release episodes.
Sure you’ll have a fix soon.

    Cheers!

Another issue here…I’d subscribed to Earth Core last week and it is not showing on my subscription list, I’d also removed a couple of subscriptions for completed books and they are show up again. Looks like data was restored from a backup?

I am glad you’re back. I am having the same problem with releasing episodes, and also the same thing happens when I try to cancel, or alter the release schedule for a subscription. But I guess new servers always bring new problems at first.

Oh dear, my podcatcher software (Juice) now seems to have gone & downloaded again every episode of every feed I’ve ever subscribed to via Podiobooks! Ok, I can manually delete these, but now I’m not sure if I’ve deleted genuine ‘next episodes’ as well & as I often don’t keep strictly up to date on every story this could make listening very confusing.

Welcome back, guys. So glad to see you!

I can and do sympathize with what you’ve gone and are going through. My ultimate solution is to get a computer with a magic key on the keyboard that says, “JDWIW” (JUST DO WHAT I WANT). Hit that button and VOILA!, all done!

Anybody know where I can find that??

FYI, the “manually release next episode” thingie doesn’t work for me, either, so I’m guessing it’s not an isolated phenomenon. Good luck with that.

    Again, welcome back.

Just to help pinpointing the problem with releasing chapters:

I switched the update frequency of a book from monthly to daily.
Now it says “Next Release: Part 9 of 29 on Aug 16, 2006″.

  9. Stoffern Says:

My feeds do not release automaticaly anymore (probably since all the dates have passed), and the release manualy doesn’t work, so I’m basicaly still unable to listen…you still have some fixing to do.

  10. Fede Says:

Hi guys! just to underline the point, having the same problem with releasing new chapters. I’m sure you’re working on it, just let us know when it is fixed…. please!!!!!!!

  11. Chris Says:

Heya, folks. I’m posting an update on the blog.

  12. Eric Says:

Looks like things are fixed now. Working fine. Thanks!
