I was somewhat hesitant at first, thinking this might end up being Christian novel shrouded in the guise of a fantasy setting, but I was very wrong.

I'm loving this! The story is intriguing and fun and takes a very unique and open minded view of "The Afterlife" and seems to cover, at least marginally, ideals from most all of the major belief systems in the world

I'm halfway through the 2nd book "Hell" and am enjoying the story tremendously. I love the way the narrators voices fit the characters (Taken from the first person perspective) ages nearly perfectly.

My only criticism has to do with the use of profanity. Don't get me wrong, I don't find it offensive, but rather annoying in it's implementation. I would expect a certain degree of it considering the backgrounds and ages of the characters, but it seems to me to be a bit too gratuitous, contrived and misplaced. It is almost as if it is included to ensure that the story is not lumped into the "Young Adult" genre. It honestly reminds me of teenagers who use profanity because they think it makes them sound older. Unfortunately, the characters themselves are young adults (Early 20s), not teenagers, and the way they use profanity conversationally is very unrealistic and forced. But this is just my humble opinion, and it doesn't really hinder my enjoyment of the book, but it does, to me, make the characters a bit less believable.

All in all however, I still think it's a great story and can't wait to get to the next episode!

Don't know why this took so long, but I decided to come back and give my 2¢.

This book has a special place in my heart. You see, apart from being a great reading of a great story, this was my first dip into the podcast pool. Not just my first podiobook, but my introduction to the whole world of podcast fiction out there.

I'm on my second pass through the Heaven books. Sorry, the Afterlife series. Got a hunch it won't be my last. Thanks, Mur!

I enjoyed this more and more as it went on. Dog Heaven in particular stood out as a cool original idea. Not that there's anything wrong with using existing myths when you do new and interesting stuff with them.

Great narration too. I've just downloaded Season 2 and am looking forward to more. :)

I love the concept of this story -- it's very different and inspired. The references to the various gods/goddesses were interesting and thought-provoking -- two things I love dearly. I have only slightly brushed the surface of myths and legends in other cultures and was captivated by seeing these characters in action.

I would have enjoyed a bit more detail about various things -- scents, sights, appearances. The best I can reference is JK Rowling or Raoul Dahl -- they write in a way that allows you to taste the food, smell each scent, feel each stitch of clothing. While I adored the plot line and the concept, it felt a bit rushed and abrupt at times because of the sparce details. Also, at times, the language felt a bit too casual and conversational for me, which, I understand, is a matter of taste and I'm just not accustomed to reading things written in this fashion.

All in all, I loved where this story was going. What a wonderful imagination -- I wish I could stir up and harness thoughts like this!

I got so caught up in Heaven that I actually did nothing but listen to it for several hours! That's odd for me, being a hardcore multitasker.

Anyway, I thought it was very good. I'm looking forward to hearing Hell.

Hey Mur -

Fantastic - beautiful - touching.

As with most of your writing you seem to capture details and perspective that pass many other by. Can't wait for the second season.

If you ever need a cover artist for your books then look me up by email or through my website.

I quite liked this story. The POV shift in the middle was not good for me. I don't know if it was the dramatic shift in the story, or the new voice actor, but I didn't like it. I want more of the girl's story. Better story and acting there. Thanks. All in all, good stuff.

Very nicely done, I liked the POV shift in the middle and the way the plot developed, I got a bit worried it was going to be a "Visit a Heaven of the week" kind of story I'm glad a real plot developed. Nicely written and performed. Season 2 should be very interesting!

Heaven was actually one of the most enjoyable things I've read recently. I'm definitely looking forward to the next installments!

Also, you should probably link to Heaven from I Should Be Writing. I didn't even hear about it being on podiobooks until I was listening to another podcast.

First, I'm a huge fan of Mighty Mur, and look -- I am writing! I love Geek Fu Action Grip, and being able to hear Heaven on her podcast was an absolute treat. Yet, as I said on my podcast, my only quibble was that I wish it stood on it's own.

I listen to chat-podcasts separately from podiobooks and audio dramas. I'm geeky that way. Hearing Mur's wisdom on Geek Fu and then diving into Heaven somehow was odd, but of course I did anyways because Heaven was awesome.

Now, huzzah, I can listen to the story again as I await "season two".

Well?? (taps foot impatiently)

Where are more episodes? I already know that you've completed the first season...so where are more episodes from that season?

(with foot continuing to tap, arms folded across chest and eyes hooded by frowning eyebrows glaring at you) Well??
