Mini unconference with me at the PME
This is a reprint of something I just put up on my MySpace blog. I know that most of you don’t also follow that blog and that a few probably have concerns about MySpace. Since this speaks specifically to what we’re doing here at Podiobooks.com, I deem it worth the dual posting.
Like a many podcasters, I’ll be attending the Portable Media Expo (PME) in Ontario, California at the end of September. You already know I’m one of the official presenters, working with Steve Eley of Escape Pod to talk about “Podcasting the Written Word”.
Today, I agreed to another speaking engagement, this time taking place at one of the booths on the Expo floor. Podango is asking several podcasters to host small unconference style talks on a variety of subjects. I’m slated to talk on Friday (9/29/06) from 11:25 - 11:50. My talk is currently entitled: “Going beyond “two bodies and a microphone” - Exploring new horizons with podcasting”, which arguably is not the most concise name in the world. But it does have that “snakes on a plane” vibe, as you know what you are in for.
I’ve never done the unconference thing and am looking forward to the opportunity. Come by and see me! Unlike the official PME talk, this one doesn’t require any out-of-pocket cash to hear. But you still have to register for your free pass to the expo floor, so get on that if you haven’t done so already!
