Another step toward “making it”
I take it as a good sign that the typo-squatters have turned their attention our direction. I’m unsure that there is enough traffic on the word podiobooks to justify registering the domain without the second “o”, but Wang Lee in Hong Kong certainly seems to think so.
(And no, I’m not going to link to the domain or to Mr. Lee’s website. No way I’m helping his page rank. Those curious enough have what they need to find it.)

While I haven’t dropped the second o (seems a little silly) I frequently get all confused when I forget the s on the end (podiobook.com) and it tells me that you don’t exist.

Typo-squatting is sad. If you have to resort to impersonating other people or their websites, you obviously value fame and money over a sense of achievement for something you did yourself.
The fact someone’s typo-squatting podiobooks shows you guys made something good. Otherwise they wouldn’t have bothered.

I have lived in Hong Kong for a few years, and I could not agree more with Mac’s first paragraph, because it is actually a pretty good description of a lot of Hongkongers I have met so far! They value money so much that foreigners and locals rarely mingle in the bars of the city, because the locals are too busy having extra jobs during what is left of their free time instead of trying to enjoy life. They are a sad bunch. Typo-squatting fits their profile perfectly. And judging from comments I have heard all around this place, I bet that guy feels genuinely clever too.
