As much as I love the longer novels on podiobooks, a collection of short stories like this is something of a treat. Its certainly let me discover authors that I'd never heard before and I've enjoyed hearing and reading more of their work.

Have to disagree with the comment about poor audio quality, it sounds fine to me

I liked most of the stories, even the songstress. Ok. I can't spell, but I can sort of apreaciate what th singer goes through since I am one myself. I also liked the thing about the sys admins. That really hit close to home as that can really happen!

Good stuff overall. Some of the stories aren't to my taste, but there are some real gems in this collection.

My only complaint is that it's not always clear when a story is only part one of two, it just ends with no indication that there's anything more to it. Sure, the track names are there, but I usually just set my podcasts running and do other things as they play, and when I'm not actually at my computer I use an iPod Shuffle, so track names don't help. Just a quick "to be continued", or even simply calling it "part one of two" at the beginning would do it.

Other than that, this is great stuff.

I've been listening wto this series with great interest; I'm really enjoying the variety of stories in it.

One thing I noticed, however -- there seems to be a problem with #19 (listed as "The Merry Husband"). When it downloaded into my itunes, it was a 30 second blurb thing totally unrelated to the book. I came to the site to try and re-download/listen through the chapter links, and it was another media file entirely. This should probably be looked into... though I haven't noticed any other problems with the book thus far.

I really enjoyed the stories in this compilation. Some of them were quite amazing and I'm glad they were included. I wish that in the description for each chapter on the Podiobooks website that the original URL's of the author were included for easy reference to find more works by the same person.

Just started this book, and have to comment on Barry. Just a great little "superhero" story. As a comics fan, I really enjoyed this tale. But I hope there is a sequel down the line. Or maybe it's already available?

Mur,

Thanks for this great series. I've only got one problem - I almost missed the turning on the motorway whilst listening to "Timmy, Jimmy and the Beast"!

Although I don't particularly like Paul S Jenkins' voice in the Rev Up Review, he can really tell a good yarn. In fact (and here I'm guessing is one of the main reasons for the stories) I'm now seriously thinking about writing myself.

Please pass on my thanks to the authors.

Oh, "Anders Game" is something I'm sure many can relate to (sort of).

Cheers,

Grahame

I'm not too far into it yet, but am loving what I'm hearing. Any chance of putting up a list of chapters and links to the authors' webpages/blogs/podcast feeds?

Loving the stories - some familiar, some new.

Quick question - is there a problem with Ch17 - Curse of the Forward Thinking Gentleman?
It stops rather suddenly 19 minutes into the story - just as we are about to head to the copper room...
The file size is 17,981 KB according to windows.

Chris...

I've contacted our the guys at Libsyn, and they are checking into it. You're not the only one, but unfortunately, it does not seem to be a problem that I have any control over. Hopefully the guys at Libsyn will be able to tell me what, exactly, is going on.

I am really struggling with chapter 10 - itsy bitsy spider. I have downloaded it twice to a size of 22,236KB and it is chopped off mid sentence at 23 minutes and 43 seconds.

I have had to locate it on the authors website to hear the ending.

Could someone please check this out?

Really enjoyes listening so far...

Listening to Wolf in the Park right now. Patrick is an excellent narrator. Though I could do without some of the SFX. I'd rather imagine the growl of the wolf than hear it. But otherwise an excellent performance.
