Want to listen now? Sure you do…

I’ve gone through the site and added those slick little Listen Now buttons that you find on all the finest podcasting sites. When you click on that button, a new window will pop up, and you’ll be able to hear part or all of the podiobook you selected.

The buttons act differently in different places. Here’s the breakdown:

  1. On the home and book detail pages you’ll hear a sampler feed. It will play three chapters of the book, and then remind you to subscribe. This is handy, as it allows you to try the book out to see if it’s something you like, without having to mess about in your podcatcher.
  2. On the subscription page you’ll hear the book just as if you had downloaded it with your podcatcher. No sampler files here, just creamy podiobook goodness. This option is perfect if you’re somewhere without your mp3 player or podcatching software…like the office. That’s how I use it, anyway. I don’t want to be downloading files at the office, so I use the built in player. Works out well, and obeys your schedule completely.

As usual, if you have any questions, comments, or high praise, please let us know…

I had to read it four times before I understood “smapler files.” I thought it was some new format that I didn’t know anything about.

High praise for the whole idea here and its implementation. Put a star on the chart by your name.
