In answer to Petaringout I use the same kind of activities with an audio book that you can use with any piece of literature. For example;

Chapter summaries
Character summaries
Reviews
What do you think will happen next ?
What would you do if you were in X's place ?
Who would you choose to play the characters in a film version ?

I must add that I teach English to foreigners and till now I've been doing this with private lessons only. Check out Earthcore by Scott Sigler as well.
